Dewar’s 30 Year Old Double Double 50cl
Lot number: 171-03292
Winning bid: £140
John Dewar began blending whisky at his shop on Perth High Street in the mid 19th century, and upon his death in 1880 the business passed to his two sons, John and Tommy. The extroverted Tommy subsequently embarked on a two year odyssey around the globe, spreading word of the brand far and wide. His legendary exploits (which included throwing empty bottles of Dewar’s containing reward notes overboard during his voyage) helped grow the brand from its humble beginnings to the giant it is today.
Double Double
Dewar’s Double Double has a unique 4-stage blending process, where single grain whiskies are first blended together. Single malt whiskies are also blended together separately, before combining the two in a third maturation. This blend of malt and grain whiskies then undergoes a fourth maturation in PX sherry Casks.
Age: 30 Years Old
Cask Type: PX Sherry Casks
46% ABV / 50cl
