Winning bid: £80

Since 1833, when King William IV granted the first Royal Appointment ever given to a distillery, Brackla has been called “Royal Brackla” and known as “The King’s Own Whisky”. Although sales of the single malt are quite low compared to others, it is highly desired for use in many blends including William Lawson and Dewar’s so, in the past few years, the distillery has been running at full capacity production. A new core range was released in 2015 consisting of a 12, 16, and 21 Year Old.

This rare whisky was distilled in the Highlands by Royal Brackla, one of only two active distilleries to hold the ‘Royal’ suffix and holder of a Royal Warrant since 1883. In 2018 the whisky was transferred to two Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon casks by Hunter Laing & Co., and specially selected by Fortnum & Mason for bottling to commemorate the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.
