Lot number: 171-04609

Winning bid: £30

R&B Distillers received planning permission for the first legal distillery on the Isle of Raasay in early 2016 and they also plan a second site in the village of Peebles in the Scottish Borders. This was where co-founder Alasdair Day’s ancestors blended whisky in a grocer’s shop. In anticipation of the distillery’s first whisky release in 2020, R&B produced a peated Highland single malt in 2015 called Raasay While We Wait in suggestion of the type of whisky they aimed to produce; a fruity and lightly peated malt.

Two Isle of Raasay spirits – peated and unpeated – are matured separately in first fill Rye whiskey, fresh Chinkapin oak and first fill Bordeaux red wine casks. These six recipe casks marry together to create the perfect dram with real elegance, complexity and depth of character.

This gin is a reflection of the impressive island geology and the recipe combines ten carefully chosen botanicals, including Raasay juniper, sweet orange peel, lemon peel, and our double distilled spirit. Every drop of their Scottish gin is lovingly distilled and bottled on the Isle of Rassay.

46% ABV / 70cl
