Wolfburn The Kylver Series 1-12 12 x 70cl

Wolfburn (of Thurso) has recently wrestled the title of Scotland’s most northerly mainland distillery from Old Pulteney, the Wick-based maritime malt masters. Having only gained approval for the new distillery - which lies a short distance from the old one, but draws its water from the same “Wolf Burn” - in 2012, the owners managed to produce the first spirit in early 2013. Very early on in the distillery’s formation, the company cleverly hired Shane Fraser who was formerly manager of Glenfarclas.

Named after the burial stones that feature the earliest examples of the runic alphabet, the Kylver Series is Wolfburn’s outlet for casks they deem a little bit too distinctive to be lost in their standard single malt.
