Established in 1820 when it was converted from an old mill to a distillery in Newmarket street, Coleraine at one point produced up to 100,000 gallons of triple-distilled malt whisky! It was famous for its reputed whisky that was delivered to the House of Commons in London and thereafter Coleraine decided to highlights its labels with the letters HC. The distillery was acquired by Irish Distillers Ltd in 1972 but unfortunately production ceased just 6 years later.
