Lot number: 180-00205

Winning bid: £35

A stylish bottle of Pinwinnie Royale. Much loved in Scotland but now sadly pretty much unavailable. This long discontinued whisky was handed over from the original Pinwinnie distillers to Inverhouse. A blend of the finest whiskies distilled in the revered custom of Scotland, and bottled by hand in Airdrie, Lanarkshire.

Inver House Distillers still retains its regional headquarters at Airdrie, where it once operated Moffat whisky complex. Located on the site of the derelict Moffat Mills paper mill, the complex included a malt whisky distillery called Glen Flagler, and a grain distillery known as Garnheath. Glen Flagler’s malt was used for fillings in Inver House’s blends – Inver House, Mac Arthur’s and Pinwinnie Royale.

It is not clear why or when the blend was discontinued, as it was a well regarded brand. A proper old fashioned blended scotch.

40% ABV / 70cl
