Inspired by the tradition of providing a ration of rum to the sailors of the Royal Navy by the “Purser”of the ship, Pusser’s Rum pays homage to the colloquial version of the word “Pusser” which was adapted by the sailors themselves. Pusser’s Rum is proud of its deep rooted historical links and the sense of community and legacy that was felt onboard many a Royal Navy Ship when fellow seamen and sailors shared a ‘tot of rum’ or a double ‘tot’ before a battle or in celebration of success! Despite this traditional prevailing from 1655 until 1970, all good things must come to an end and the powers that be decreed that this tradition should be ended after one too many skirmishes.

Amazingly, the concern surrounding daily intake of rum on board and ordering it to be diluted with water, lime juice and cane sugar Admiral Vernon unknowingly created the world’s first cocktail - grog!
Pusser’s Rum is liquid history and undergoes a unique distilling process and is never tampered with by adding sugar or artificial colouring - it’s just good ol’ rum.
