Lot number: 180-01612

Winning bid: £40

After being founded by John Duff & Co in 1897, the distillery was mothballed for 65 years with only its floor maltings being used for the Longmorn distillery next door. After experiencing great success under the ownership of Billy Walker and his partners, it won Distillery of the Year from Malt Advocate magazine in 2007 and has received rave reviews for its peated and un-peated expressions alike. The distillery was purchased by Brown-Forman in 2016 - the same year they bought GlenDronach and Glenglassaugh - and in 2017 Rachel Barrie took over as master blender.

This 13 year old vintage was distilled in 1999 and is a classic BenRiach dram with intense notes of toasted vanilla, clotted cream and sugar whilst having the colour of golden straw, adding to the overall enjoyment of this impressive whisky.

Distilled: 1999

Age: 13 Years Old
