Winning bid: £170
Martell is the oldest of the great cognac houses with its foundation in 1715 on the banks of the Charente when a Jersey-born merchant called Jean Martell created his own trading company. Since then the passion has been passed down through generations of the Martell family and has always been associated with luxury: it was served on the Queen Mary in 1936 and on Concorde in the 1970s.
Single Cru Borderies:
This release is blended from eaux-de-vie exclusively sourced from the Borderies Terroir, and is said to roll over the tongue with sweet fruit and subtle floral notes.
