Founded in 1895, Gordon & MacPhail has been bottling single malt whiskies for 120 years and by the 1950s it held the largest range of bottled malt whiskies in the world. This family-run business has bottled the oldest single malt whisky in the world - a Mortlach 1939 75 Year Old - as well as being a distiller itself after buying Benromach in 1993. They bottle whisky across several ranges including Connoisseurs Choice, the Private Collection, and their most exclusive, Generations.

Part of the second generation of the family that still owns Gordon & MacPhail, Mr George Urquhart, who started working in the business in 1933, is the legendary director who invented the Connoisseurs Choice range in 1968. He was called the father of single malt that helped bring single malt whisky to the world.

The legacy edition from the Glen Grant distillery, which was laid down 64 years ago while Mr George was at the helm of the business, celebrates his long term approach to maturation and his importance on matching the whisky to the ideal cask wood.
